Course Description
The demand for nurses has never been higher! Learn what it takes to become a nurse, pursue a career, and understand the practice of nursing and the healthcare system. With a strong focus on patient care, you’ll explore safety, communication and ethics, relationship building, and how to develop wellness strategies for your patients. From emergency to rehabilitative care, to advances and challenges in the healthcare industry, discover how you can launch a fulfilling career providing care to others.

Throughout this course, students will develop both the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for success in the workplace. In addition to exploring career-specific concepts and practices, students will reflect on workplace safety, communication, professionalism, customer service, reliability, career advancement, and lifelong learning. Students will examine the responsibilities associated with working in the field, evaluate the qualities of successful professionals, and consider how their skills, interests, and goals align with potential career opportunities. These experiences help students build career readiness skills that are valuable in any profession while preparing them for future education, training, and employment.
