Course Description This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as lifelong learners. With a strong foundational set from Japanese 1 and Japanese 2, students will continue developing their language skills through thematic interactive lessons. Each unit will give students ample opportunities for ownership of their learning via forum discussions and provide guided practice for writing, speaking, reading, and listening in Japanese. Thematic topics explored include: Japanese festivals, personal traits and characteristics, part-time jobs, honorific and humble situations, timeframes and story narration, and navigating within Japan via various forms of public transportation. Grammar topics explored include: seems like~, relative clauses, wanting to try an activity or experience, conditionals, idiomatic expressions, intermediate adjectives, continuation of an action, wanting to do an action, currently not doing an action, casual negative forms review, stating obligation to complete an action, te-form review, showing gratitude for a favor, honorific and humble language, describing limits, expressing your intent or future plans, completing an action in advance or making preparations ahead of time, describing various reasons, passive forms of verbs, expressing possibility, introduce a new topic, illustrate an interrupting action, say if something has occurred or not yet occurred, write a theoretical wish, give directions to a specific location. Scheduling Information COMPLETE COURSES -A complete version of the virtual course. - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months ABBREVIATED COURSES - A shortened course intended for students seeking to make-up failed courses or recover credits. - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days. PARTIAL COURSES - A partial version of an online course intended for students temporarily away from classes (i.e. Home Bound Instruction, In/Out-of School Suspension). - Partial courses must be completed by your school's end date Format -Delivery : This is a virtual course delivered entirely by an established education organization, including a virtual instructor, to students and educators.
