Course Description
This is an honors level course that challenges students with capstone analysis, evaluation, and creativity. Students are required to complete honors capstone assignments in each semester of the course, involving research, creation, and/or the extensive use of multimedia.

This course builds on the foundation students gained in Latin I. Students will continue to enhance their reading skills on intermediate Latin texts, acquiring relevant and useful cultural background on the Romans. Students add to their knowledge about the Foundation of Rome as they explore the wide boundaries of the Roman empire and explore how far the Romans empire extended. Students also continue to see the link between our cultures and the culture of the Romans and to make connections between Latin and English, improving their English vocabulary as they go. Some topics covered in this course include health, clothing, countries, preterite and imperfect tenses, using past tense, preferences, making plans, making comparisons, careers and jobs, and the environment. Readings include the Crow and the Fox, the Faithful Dog, Tantalus, the Lion, the Donkey, and the Fox.
