Course Description
This course looks at varying political systems and provides students with the tools to analyze them through comparative analysis themes, including: A Globalizing World of States, Governing the Economy, The Democratic Idea, and The Politics of Collective Identities.
Students will examine Consolidated Democracies through the examples of Britain, France, Germany, the EU, Japan, India and the US. Mixed systems include Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Nigeria, and Russia. Lastly, students will analyze the authoritarian governments of Iran and China.
