Course Description In AP® Physics 2, students will learn how to derive equations, understand the importance and usefulness of units, develop new technical vocabulary, and learn techniques for solving challenging problems. Inquiry based labs and conceptual understandings are the central tenets to the AP® Physics 2 course. The course is based on the seven units of required content in the AP® Physics 2 Course and Exam Description outlined by College Board. These are Fluids, Thermodynamics, Electric Force, Field and Potential, Electric Circuits, Magnetism and Electromagnetic Induction, Geometric and Physical Optics, and Quantum, Atomic, and Nuclear Physics. This course does not include registration for the AP Exam Offering. Students planning to take the AP exam are required to register and sit locally for the AP Exam. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days. Prerequisites AP Physics 1 or a comparable introductory physics course and students should have taken or be concurrently taking pre-calculus or an equivalent course.
