Course Description This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as life long learners. Music Studies provides students with an introductory overview of music. This includes, but is not limited to, the knowledge of pitch, rhythm, texture, timbre, triads, and forms. Students will study from a wide range of musical eras and music history, including the history of opera, the invention of concrete music, and the history of music in the media. Students will also learn about a variety of non-western music history and instruments from around the world, such as African, Indonesian and Indian cultures. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days.
