Course Description This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as life long learners. The complex history of Europe is the focus of this survey course. Students will commence in Ancient Greece and Rome and move through the Middle Ages. Absolutism and New Age concepts will follow via the Renaissance and Reformation. The course then moves toward modern times via the French Revolution and global interactions. The 1900s are highlighted by two World Wars and the Cold War with the students completing their study by analyzing the modern world of Europe. Economic, geographical, and cultural concepts are highlighted throughout the course.
