Course Description This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as life long learners. In this Life Skills course, students will learn about interacting with others, maintaining healthy relationships, how to take care of themselves, and preparing for their future. Healthy relationships between families, peers, and significant others are examined, as well as effective communication and conflict resolution skills and stress management strategies. By examining nutrition and healthy eating, the importance of exercise and mental health, as well as basic first aid skills, students will get a base to help build a healthy lifestyle. Finally, students will look toward their future and learn about banking and money management, being a critical consumer, budgeting, and the process of seeking and applying for a job. Students will leave the course with a fundamental understanding of a number of important skills, strategies, and tools to assist them in their everyday life. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days.
