Course Description This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as life long learners. In this introductory business course, students will be exposed to major segments of the business environment in order to spark their interest of further study in business education. Students will gain a wide array of business experiences ranging from starting a business and exploring the types of businesses to marketing and financing a business venture. Students will study the interrelationships between economics, entrepreneurship, management, marketing and advertising, credit, personal finance, and career planning and preparation. Additionally, through discussion forums, essay, and projects, students will apply their learning and 21st Century skills to solve real-world business scenarios. Throughout the course, students balance practicing research, writing strategies, building an argument, speaking and listening, and building and applying vocabulary.
