Course Description This course is specifically designed for students from the state of Virginia. In French I, students begin to develop communicative competence in French and expand their understanding of the culture(s) of francophone countries. Students show communicative competence with interpersonal speaking and writing, interpretive listening and reading as receptive processes in which students develop comprehension of French, and presentational speaking and writing. In level I French classes, students learn to communicate in real-life contexts about topics that are meaningful to them. Grammar is integrated into instruction according to the vocabulary and structures needed in the various situations in which students are required to communicate. Through the language learning process, students develop a greater understanding of the structure of their own language and the unique aspects of their own culture. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days. Course Materials Students need a microphone. A headset and French/English dictionary are recommended. Format Delivery : This is a virtual course delivered entirely by an established education organization, including a virtual instructor, to students and educators. Structure Complete : This is the complete version of the virtual course. |
