Course Description In First Grade Science, students investigate the natural pheromone of light, sound, and space cycles. Studies of light include how it is transmitted, how materials affect the transmission, reflection, refraction, absorption. How shadows are formed and how shadows change with the position of the light source. In the sound lesson the relationship between sound and vibrating materials is discussed as well as how people use sound for communication. The patterns spaces that create day, night and the seasons is explored. Student’s will observe, and predict various patterns of the Sun, Moon, and Earth. In the last unit students scrutinized how parents and children are similar and different. The effect of cause and effect is studied by showing how animals and plants adapt for survival.
