Course Description This AP® English Literature and Composition course is designed to teach rigorous literary analysis through the exploration of a wide variety of literary texts grouped into thematic units. During each unit, students will complete various writing assignments that focus on analyzing and interpreting works of fiction: style, structure, and strategy. Students will read novels, plays, short stories, and poems from the 16th to the 21st century. This course also focuses on the development of sophisticated writing through analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating literature. Students will practice and refine their writing skills via several essays and revision opportunities. Students will also practice engaging in the discussion of literature with peers through discussion forum assignments. This course does not include registration for the AP Exam Offering. Students planning to take the AP exam are required to register and sit locally for the AP Exam.
