Course Description
The AP® English Language and Composition course provides students with the opportunity to use the writing process to create various argumentative essays. This course follows the requirements described in the AP® English Literature and Composition Course and Exam Description (CED) and is structured both chronologically and thematically by unit. Throughout the course, students will continue to be challenged by adding new concepts and techniques as they move from unit to unit. Students will support their arguments through provided nonfiction texts as well as their own research. Students will also write rhetorical essays evaluating various texts, investigating their rhetorical structures, techniques, and bias.

This course does not include registration for the AP Exam Offering. Students planning to take the AP exam are required to register and sit locally for the AP Exam.
