Course Description The AP® Psychology course is designed to provide students with the critical skills necessary for the successful study of human behavior and cognition. Students will learn about and apply important terms, concepts, and trends associated with each major area of psychology. Various scientific methods and ethical considerations related to human and animal research will be investigated. Notable figures from the field of psychology will also be examined. The program prepares students for intermediate and advanced college courses by making demands upon them equal to those made by introductory college courses. The course is based on the nine units of required content in the AP® Psychology Course and Exam Description outlined by College Board. These are Scientific Foundations of Psychology, Biological Bases of Behavior, Sensation and Perception, Learning, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Motivation, Emotion, and Personality, Clinical Psychology, and Social Psychology. This course does not include registration for the AP Exam Offering. Student s planning to take the AP exam are required to register and sit locally for the AP Exam. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days. Partial Courses - Monthly courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 weeks Delivery Method
Other Information This course does not include registration for the AP Exam Offering. Students planning to take the AP exam are required to register and sit locally for the AP Exam.
