Course Description The explanation of science fair projects and the scientific method is continued in this course. The students expand their knowledge of inventions that have changed the world and explore careers in science. Investigations into magnetism and motion are also presented. Students explore the cell and its parts and learn about cell division. Lessons examine the changing earth including the rock cycle, earthquakes, and volcanoes. A distinction is made between inner planets, outer planets, and beyond the solar system. Included at this level is a discussion of computer terms, parts, and uses. This course also includes other topics such as studying different types of populations and how they increase and decrease, learning the importance of maintaining a healthy body, determining the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources and methods of conserving these resources, and recognizing how science and technology have changed the world.
