Course Description
French III builds upon what was presented in French I and II. Students will work with the French language through in-depth lessons, participate in thoughtful forum discussions, and learn to interpret and produce the language in both written and oral form. New vocabulary topics explored include going to the dentist's office, going to a doctor's office, body parts, the pharmacy, a healthy life, eating right, emergencies, the news, things to do on the weekend, a stay abroad, traveling by train and plane, staying at a hotel or youth hostel, technology, one's town or city, television and movies, describing people in depth, and francophone countries of the world. New verb tenses and grammar concepts are presented and students are challenged to write and speak on their own. By the end of the course, students will be able to use new grammatical structures like the imperfect, future, conditional, and present subjunctive tenses, as well as, direct object pronouns.
