Course Description Physical Education and Health includes a broad sequence of lessons and activities that lead to student engagement and content retention at the high school level. In this course, students learn about the components of fitness and how those components can be incorporated into a physical fitness plan. Students learn ways to analyze an athlete’s performance as well as skills, techniques, and tactics involved in sport. Furthermore, students establish ways to build healthy relationships by incorporating better communication and recognize positive techniques to resolve conflicts. Students determine the risks and consequences of making unhealthy behavior choices related to nutrition, drugs, alcohol, and sex. Students work towards reaching a level of physical fitness for their own health and performance while establishing knowledge of the benefits of physical activity, training principles, and maintaining a healthy body and lifestyle. Although this course is self-paced, students are required to record their physical activities in a weekly Physical Activity Log. Physical Activity Logs much be submitted each week from the students start date. Logs that are submitted late will lose points. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days. Partial Courses - Monthly courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 weeks Delivery Method
