Course Description
This course includes a broad sequence of lessons and activities that lead to student engagement and content retention at the middle school level. In this course, students learn about the components of fitness and how those components can be incorporated into a physical fitness plan. Students learn ways to analyze an athlete’s performance as well as tactics involved in sport. Students learn the importance of healthy food choices and how they aide in fitness performance. Furthermore, students establish ways to build healthy relationships by incorporating better communication and recognize positive techniques to resolve conflicts. Students work towards reaching a level of physical fitness for their own health and performance while establishing knowledge of the benefits of physical activity, training principles, and maintaining a healthy body and lifestyle.

Although this course is self paced, students are required to record their physical activities in a Weekly Fitness Log. Logs must be submitted each week. Logs that are submitted late lose points.
