Course Description This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as life long learners. College Prep Math prepares students for topics typically seen on college entrance exams and college math placement tests. Solutions, graphs of linear equations and inequalities, solutions to systems of linear equations and inequalities, as well as absolute value equations and inequalities are discussed. The course expands to topics including quadratic functions and the use of factoring to solve quadratic equations. Rational expressions and operations, conic sections, basic right triangle trigonometry, and arithmetic and geometric sequences and series are explored through a problem solving approach.
