Course Description This course begins with Reconstruction and post-Civil War America and continues to present day. The course focuses on the main events that occurred during this time such as the World Wars, The Asian Wars, Civil Rights Movement, and modern events like the War on Terror. The course also focuses on the parts of the US Government in order to inform students of what the role of the government is in various parts of their life as well as what role they play in the operation of the government. Students are asked to analyze and evaluate events such as Roosevelt's economic policies, the function of government and political parties as well as compare and contrast president Hoover and Roosevelt's policies during the Great Depression.
