Course Description 8th Grade Science is designed to present lessons that build on established scientific concepts. These concepts are reinforced with writing and laboratory assignments. Students will study select topics from physical science, biology, and earth and space science. Physical science topics include solutions and mixtures, heat, waves, and electromagnetism. Biology concepts include inheritance, mutation, and evolution. Earth and space is the largest portion with topics including geologic history, maps, energy resources and how they are used, resource crises, how we explore space, and an overview of the universe. Self Paced Scheduling Information Complete Courses - Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months - 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months - 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months Abbreviated Courses - Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days. - Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days. Partial Courses - Monthly courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 weeks Delivery Method
Course Materials Course materials are available online or at your local library. Format Delivery : This is a virtual course delivered entirely by an established education organization, including a virtual instructor, to students and educators. Structure Complete : This is the complete version of the virtual course. |
