Course Description
This advanced-level course is designed for students who have successfully completed Italian Level 3 or possess a strong intermediate command of the language. The course focuses on refining language skills and achieving a higher level of fluency, accuracy, and sophistication in both spoken and written Italian. Students will engage with more complex linguistic structures and explore contemporary topics to deepen cultural understanding. Topics will include: city life, vacations and tourism, current Italian society and societal issues, discussion of language, and the history of Italian art. Key areas of study include: advanced grammar, including the subjunctive mood, conditional tense, as well as the passato remoto and complex sentence structures. By the end of the course, students will be able to participate in discussions on a wide range of topics, express themselves with fluency and precision, and navigate advanced language situations with confidence. This course is ideal for learners aiming for advanced proficiency in Italian and those preparing for immersion or study at the college level.
